This season the anti-fur protests at London fashion week were on a much bigger measure than usual. Activists gathered in front of shows with posters including 'Cruelty is never Style', 'Animals are not a Fabric’ and 'Say no to Fur'.
An activism organisation called Surge has caused disorder outside the shows, which describes itself as being “determined to create a world where compassion towards non-human animals is the norm.”
The quality of faux fur has improved dramatically over the years; therefore it is no longer regarded as a cheap alternative to the real thing. Instead, wearing faux fur has become a fashion statement as both buyers and designers are turning to synthetic fur to protest against animal cruelty. Krasimira Stoyneva’s world believes that killing animals for the sake of fashion is unnecessary and has found an innovative alternative to real animal fur by using synthetic hair and following the motto “Wear Hair Not Fur”.

The use of synthetic hair represents and celebrates ethical beauty in a positive manner, in contrast to the use of fur.
